Learning Questions

Ged Testing Site

Q. I have an adult who recently has been diagnosted with a LD. He is in the process of taking GED classes. He is going to need special accomodations (these accomodations are out lined in his documentation) for the actual exam. My question is: what is the process for arrangeing these accomodations? Any commond pit-falls to avoid? Any special conditions to be aware of in NY State?

A. Most likely the person seeking the accomodations will have to go through the doccumenting process at the GED testing site. Most state GED operations (I don't know about New York) have specific accomodations for specific disability, for example time and a half is the accomodation for extra time. Since the test requires demonstration of some specific learning skills for subject, there may be some unalterable facets of it. I would advise the person to initiate the proceedure at the GED testing center.
