I have never ridden a motorcycle before. Does the firstsession teach enough that I could & should practice during the week to prepare for the skills test at the end?

I have never ridden a motorcycle before.I now have my learner's permit and a Suzuki GS500E but I don't think I'll be riding it until I complete the MSF basic rider course in the next two weeks.Does the first session teach enough that I could & should practice during the week to prepare for the skills test at the end?Or is there too much not covered until the 2nd session that I shouldn't ride until after that?
A. You will not need to do any practice outside of class, to pass the MSF skills test.They don't expect you to own a motorcycle yet,so they don't expect you to put in time outside of class. I'd go so far as to recommend that you not ride outside of the class until you've finished the course,so you won't develop any bad habits that have to be broken immediately.They actually prefer students who haven't ridden before,for this reason.
