What do you think about Drivers Education Classes ?
Q. A article says that: Driver's education is not an academic subject. It won't help students get into college or even prepare for a career directly. But driving is a fundamental skill. Doing it well may mean the difference between life and death for young drivers as well as others. What do you think about Drivers Education Classes ?
A. Personally, I'd like to see it taken out of the schools and run externally - perhaps by DPS, but preferably by a commercial entity. For one thing, doing so would help alleviate the lack of adult driver training availability that exists pretty much statewide outside the major metro areas - which in turn might encourage mandatory classes for chronic adult offendors, as well. Having to attend classes on their own time might also help the kids realize that driving is a privilege, rather than an assumed rite of passage that automatically comes when you reach "that age". Lastly, there's a slight possibility that it would result in more support for public transportation.
