Distance Education for Associate Degree ?Q. We are looking for a college/university which offers a Associate degree in Business through distance education. My friend has a GED with no college background at all. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to proceed? We are taking a look at various guides. We haven't found any of John Bear's books in the bookstores around here, but we have access to them in libraries. A. Regents College of the U of the State of NY and Thomas Edison State College of Trenton NJ are probably the two most popular nonresident programs for the Associate's and the Bachelor's in business. Not sure if this is up your alley, but take a look at the New School for Social Research at http://dialnsa.edu. They offer a M.A. in Media Studies which seems to be geared towards mass communication and marketing, although I'm not entirely certain. I just saw your title. It seems you're after an Associates's degree rather than a B.S. The same two schools above can help you out. However, if you're in the U.S.A., just save yourself the money and do it online at a community college. Here in California, you can earn a two-year business degree with resident tuition of $12/unit. They'll also let you use CLEP exams to test out of certain requirements (e.g. Marketing, Accounting, etc). I'm sure that similar opportunities exist in other states. For the life of me, I have no idea what type of job you might get with an A.S. in Marketing.
